Barbara Shares Her Eye Plastic Associates Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When Barbara\u2019s upper eyelids started sagging, it significantly impacted her peripheral vision. Eventually, they drooped so much that she could barely keep them open to read a book. \u201cIf I looked straight ahead, I couldn\u2019t see the ceiling anymore,\u201d she says. That\u2019s when she knew it was time to get help.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara was referred to Dr. Scott by her optometrist, who informed her that her insurance would cover a blepharoplasty for medical reasons. Even though she lives over an hour away in Woodstock, Dr. Scott came highly recommended, so she scheduled an appointment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe went step by step and told me everything that was going to happen,\u201d she remembers. \u201cHe answered every question I had and even told me some things I didn\u2019t know I needed to know. He made me feel very comfortable, so I didn\u2019t have any qualms going into the surgery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Afterward, Barbara said the recovery was \u201cso easy.\u201d She adds, \u201cI never needed pain pills, and I was very pleased. If I ever have to have any work done again, I wouldn\u2019t go see anybody else.\u201d The surgery results have exceeded her expectations. \u201cI can now see like I used to see,\u201d she says. \u201cPlus, in the past, I looked tired all the time. Now I feel and look more awake, alert, and younger. That wasn\u2019t my goal, but it was a nice side benefit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barbara raised her family in Syracuse, New York, before moving with her husband to Virginia three years ago. It allows her to be closer to her daughter, and she loves the warmer weather and scenic views. \u201cI absolutely love it here. It\u2019s exactly what I was looking for,\u201d she says. She is now retired, and in her spare time, she loves to read, cook, and make Diamond Dotz paintings \u2014 all activities that are easier now with her newly improved vision.<\/p>\n<table class=\"sign_box\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\">\nOne of Barbara\u2019s favorite things about her experience at Eye Plastic Associates was the staff. \u201cThey are really exceptional,\u201d she says. \u201cEspecially Dawn, the surgical scheduler.
