To correct the problem, he recommended an upper eyelid blepharoplasty and referred her to Eye Plastic Associates, where she met Dr. Scott, whom she calls \u201cvery, very good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Still, Ellen had a case of cold feet. \u201cWe had to schedule my surgery three times,\u201d she remembers. One cancellation was due to a COVID-based ban on elective procedures, but Ellen also had to overcome her nerves. \u201cI wanted to do it, but I was a little nervous when I found out general anesthesia was involved,\u201d she notes. \u201cDr. Scott was very patient, and I had an excellent relationship with him. His staff was equally pleasant to deal with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once she faced her fears, Ellen\u2019s recovery went as expected. \u201cIt was not anything terrible,\u201d she says. \u201cYou expect to have a little discomfort and swelling, but it was nothing you couldn\u2019t tolerate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Immediately, she noticed an improvement in her eyesight. \u201cI hadn\u2019t noticed how diminished my peripheral vision was,\u201d she says. Without the excess skin in the way, \u201ceverything seemed really bright.\u201d She has adjusted to that now. And though her procedure was not for cosmetic reasons, she notes that her eyes also look \u201cinfinitely better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked what advice she\u2019d give other patients considering a blepharoplasty, Ellen quickly recommends Dr. Scott. \u201cThey have an excellent staff, and he\u2019s an excellent doctor,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s the best place to achieve the best possible outcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<table class=\"sign_box\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\">\nShe also urges potential patients not to wait, noting, \u201cI put it off too long.
