She works at patient check-out, makes follow-up appointments, and does billing and coding for the office. Jessica says being the last point of contact for our patients provides a great opportunity.

“I make sure all of their questions are answered and that they leave happy and satisfied with their care” she says.

One of her favorite parts of the job is interacting with patients. “We’re getting new patients all the time through referrals, but we also have patients who come back repeatedly. It’s great seeing them because we recognize their faces and know their names.”

She also values working with Dr. Scott and the rest of the team at the office, who all get along well. Jessica says the work environment is great, which helps the day run smoothly and ensures that patients get the best possible care. Those important qualities have kept her with us for the past two years.

Jessica previously worked at the front desk of a skin cancer surgery center, so she’s no stranger to the medical field. Part of what piqued her interest in her current job was the opportunity to learn something new: “I wanted to learn something different and get to know a different field of medicine.”

Outside of the office, you can find Jessica outdoors. “As soon as I’m off work, I’m out in the open air,” she says. One favorite activity is kayaking on the Potomac when the weather is warm, but she likes to go camping and fishing year-round. She also says family time is important for her, adding, “I have nieces and nephews who are all under the age of 5, so they definitely keep me on my toes!”

We’re so glad to have Jessica on our team.
